Company Description

Our operations are located in a historic brewery building built in 1858 in downtown Appleton, Wisconsin.  We are a full menu brewpub and packaging brewery.  Currently we offer our beer to five distributors 29 Wisconsin counties.  We are the oldest all-grain brewpub in the state and have grown significantly in our 16 years.  Several of our beers have won national awards and we currently offer five brands to the local retail market in bottles and several in draught.  We are a labor intensive brewery being small, yet powerful and brewing within these historic walls.

Position

  • Title: Packaging Supervisor
  • Reports To: Brewery Manager

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proper and timely packaging of product
    • In ½, ¼ and 1/6 barrels, firkins and pins
    • Bottles
  • Packaging material inventory management
  • Coordinates palletizing and warehousing of finished product
  • Maintains written/digital packaging logs for maintenance compliance standards
  • Adhering to production schedules
  • Assist in beer and gourmet soda production
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings
  • Assist in product transfers and filtrations
  • Strictly adheres to safety protocols and S.O.P.’s
  • Works closely with Brewery Manager to maintain quality products
  • Maintains packaging hall cleanliness
  • Packaging equipment training and maintenance
  • Facilitates packaging material assembly
  • Assist in maintaining brewery functionality
  • Assist in general brewery maintenance
  • Assist in keg maintenance and cleaning
  • Shipping and receiving
  • Facilitates brewery tours as necessary 
  • Product transfers and deliveries
  • Participates in brewery related events, both on and off premise, when necessary
  • Adheres to equipment maintenance schedules
  • Draught system maintenance 
  • Maintains Tap Room Product Offerings
  • Assists in event set-up and tear-down

Desired Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 45 hour, five day work week
  • Achieve and maintain OSHA approved forklift and lift truck training certification
  • An obsessive dedication to quality and detail
  • High ability to multi-task
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
  • Desire to learn and take on new responsibilities
  • Flexibility in scheduling
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to adhere to and advance safety and green procedures
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to problem solve on the fly
  • A love of beer and working in a fun team-oriented environment
  • Extensive home brewing experience or previous brewery experience necessary
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments

Ancillary duties and responsibilities

  • Operation of forklift
  • Attend weekly team meetings
  • The ability to safely operate company van with or without trailers
  • The ability to safely operate box truck
  • Attend brewery related tastings, releases and beer festivals as necessary
