Marques Morel is an American songwriter/story-teller, midwestern-twanger/folksinger, guitar-thumper/harmonica wailer, street-performer/wandering troubadour, steadfast woodcutter/migrant worker, a father, a son, and a friend to all.“Taking his cue from the likes of Townes Van Zandt, Woody Guthrie, Hank Williams, and any number of other tattered troubadours, (Marques Morel) sounds like a cross between Johnny Cash, Bob Seger, and the late John Stewart.

Emerging from late night songwriting sessions at a dimly lit kitchen table, Marcus Truschinski (vocals) and Ben Feiner (guitar/vocals) laid the groundwork for what would become Violet Palms’ signature blend of early2000s nostalgia, modern rock heft, and irrepressible funk. They were soon joined by veteran local engineer turned drummer Michael Mertens, funk fiend bassist and actor/advocate Tim Gittings, and Craig Benzine, YouTube icon and frontman of Driftless Pony Club.

King calling him “nephew” and calls his music "Dive Bar Soul," a blend of Indie Rock storytelling and the passion of the blues. Ellen featured him on her final season and most recently, Scales opened for the legendary, Keb’ Mo’ for the month of June.

The Lone Canary is an Americana duo from Rockford, Illinois, made up of longtime collaborators Jesse Fox and Heather Camacho. Known for their haunting harmonies, raw storytelling, and chemistry forged over decades of making music together, they’ve drawn comparisons to Jason Isbell, The Civil Wars, Watchhouse, and Gillian Welch & David Rawlings. A passionate steward of American musical traditions, Lou performs with vintage instruments like his 1931 National Resonator Guitar and incorporates harmonica, foot percussion, and storytelling to evoke the spirit of early Blues and Americana. Over a 20-year career, he has toured extensively across the U.S. and Europe, releasing nine full-length albums and 13 EPs.
